Juneau, Alaska

Me deep in thought :D

At the top of the Mount Roberts Tramway, Juneau. Give me any kind of funicular, tramway, subway, cablecar, monorail, or train, and I'm there! :)

This photo was taken in Skagway, Alaska. My boyfriend Eric and I took the Whitepass Railroad up into the mountains into British Columbia, Canada along the old Yukon Gold Rush route. It was amazing!

Purchased from Russia in 1867, Alaska became the 49th U.S. state in January, 1959. By area, it is the largest state, but also one of the least populated. It is also one of the wealthiest and most racially diverse states. It contains some of the most beautiful and breathtaking scenery on the continent.

Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

Another shot in Cesky Krumlov.

Wednesday, November 23, 2005

This is Cesky Krumlov, in Southern Bohemia, not too far from the Austrian border. This medieval town dates back to the 1200's. Today it is a popular cultural center, and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Posted by Picasa

This is the famous (and really touristy) Astronomical Clock (Orloj) in Old Town Square. It's been there since in 1400's. Posted by Picasa

The view from the apartment I rented while I was there. That's the Vltava River with Nove Mesto (New Town) on the other side. Posted by Picasa

A view from Charles Bridge taken from atop the Old Town Bridge Tower. Posted by Picasa
Kutna Hora, Czech Republic

Me in Kutna Hora, Czech Republic, an old silver-mining city that dates back to the 1200's. It used to be the seat of many Czech kings, and today is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Prague, Czech Republic

This is inside the National Museum in Prague right on Welceslas Square. If it looks familar to you (and you haven't been there), it's probably because it's been featured in movies like Mission: Impossible, and Chasing Liberty.

Prague is the capital, and largest city, of the Czech Republic. Often called the "City of a Hundred Spires," it is situated on the Vltava river in central Bohemia, and is home to about 1.2 million people.
